This five-year-old showed promise on his first four starts over hurdles, but looked an improved performer when returning after a five-month break at Southwell in October, keeping on strongly to break his maiden in a 2m41/2f handicap hurdle.

Tom George's gelding went up 5lb and was upped in class in a competitive 18-runner handicap hurdle at Cheltenham's Open meeting last month, but ran a cracker in fourth over a trip (2m1/2f) that would have been inadequate. He lost out by less than five lengths and should be considered better than the bare form as he found trouble in running after the second-last. Without the interference, he may have been involved in the finish.
