Mighty Stowaway might be able to give Foxhunters' rivals the slip

Mighty Stowaway
4.05 Aintree

Buy at 7 on index

It’s hard to make a strong case for Mighty Stowaway beating hot favourite Billaway here as he has struggled against him on several occasions before, but that rival is a big buy at 22 and the selection has much less downside. At just seven on the index, a first four finish would do.

Mighty Stowaway has bits and pieces of form that point to him being good enough to reward buyers with a place at the very least. His best effort in a hunter chase was a solid third behind Stand Up And Fight and Billaway at Fairyhouse in November and a similar effort could suffice.

That performance came under Jamie Codd, and it is interesting he is back in the saddle. Codd usually has the pick of several in these races but has stayed loyal to Mighty Stowaway, rather than jump off.

The selection twice won point-to-points in Ireland last year, including by a wide margin in October, and one of his best runs under rules came on good ground at Punchestown in 2018.

Conditions are evidently in his favour and therefore Mighty Stowaway is worth a small buy.
