Midnight hits the target to sting layers

>>Midnight Target defied a high of 100 in running on Betfair on her way to springing an 18-1 surprise in the amateur riders' handicap hurdle at Ludlow.

Alex Edwards brought the winner with a storming late run to catch 40-1 chance Presenting Berkley, who had traded at 1.19.

The 11-4 favourite Midnight Gypsy touched 1.16 when in front but faded to finish fourth.
