Sometimes it is hard to give a proper context to the form of conditions races when applied to handicaps, so a note of caution should be attached to the selection of the Denise Foster-trained Merited in the BetVictor Apprentice Handicap.

On the positive side, it is easy enough to believe the six-year-old mare ran above her current mark when fourth in a recent rated race at Leopardstown.
