Spotlight Lucky 15 tips: four horses to back at Ayr on Thursday

The best four Spotlight tips to include in a Lucky 15 bet today . . .

What is a Lucky 15?

A Lucky 15 is one of the most popular multiple bets among horseracing punters and the clue is in the name as a Lucky 15 consists of 15 bets on four selections in different events. That equals four singles, six doubles, four trebles and a fourfold accumulator.

The beauty of the Lucky 15 is that only one selection of four must win to guarantee a return and the majority of bookmakers will offer incentives to play the bet.

Vince L'Amour 2.15 Ayr - @11-2 (forecast odds)

Beat 16 rivals when winning a soft-ground Class 3 handicap at York last October and he is now 7lb lower; good recent efforts at Chepstow and Haydock and this represents a drop in class; rain would be a further boost to his chances and he is high on the list.

Crowd Quake 2.45 Ayr - @5-2

Highly progressive 4yo who made it seven wins from his last nine starts when scoring at Southwell (1m3f, AW) last month, and he was a close second of 14 off this mark at Doncaster last Thursday (1m4f, good to soft; unraced on softer); reappears before 5lb rise kicks in and holds very solid claims.

Penelope's Sister 3.45 Ayr - @5-1

Two C&D wins this season (good to firm/good) and runner-up over C&D (good to soft) two starts ago; also effective on soft ground; below best at Haydock last time but could play a leading role now back here.

Minshaar 4.45 Ayr - @9-2

The least exposed contender in this field, having raced only four times; eyecatching fourth, amid prolonged traffic issues, in Haydock handicap (upped to 7f; good) most recently; interesting off the same mark and with Warren Fentiman taking off a bonus 5lb.

How to calculate your Lucky 15 returns?

How much your bet returns will depend on how many selections win, and their respective odds. For example, if two of your selections win then you can expect to be paid on two single bets, and a double of the two selections. If three selections win then you can expect to be paid out on three singles, three doubles and a treble, and so on.
