Lightly raced filly one to be on stepping up in trip

4.40 Ayr
1pt win at 6-1 generallyWelcoming is the least exposed runner in the field and while she beat only one home on her debut for Mark Johnston at Nottingham last month, it was hardly a bad run on the figures.

She has done most of her running on soft ground and is stepping up in trip, but she was a good second on her debut on good to firm and, while being by the speedy No Nay Never, the dam's side of her pedigree makes it near certain she'll stay and/or improve for the trip.

She certainly wasn't stopping when winning over 6f on heavy ground last term and it might just bring out the best in her. Favourite Global Spirit is probably the most solid but this is a very winnable race.
