Konchek could have Mountain Peak's measure at Ascot

There is no doubt Mountain Peak acts well at Ascot as he took his form figures at the track to 1592 when second in a field of 18 in a decent sprint handicap last time.

He was drawn well that day in a race dominated by those on the stands' side and is obviously going to have his work cut out now from stall two as the bias that has been apparent all season was still there on Saturday when the first three home in the International were drawn 19, 18, 20.

That won't matter for this match as Konchek is right next door in stall three, but Clive Cox's four-year-old gives the impression he is on the way back after a poor three-year-old season.

He was well held by Magic J last time, but that form is strong and it's worth remembering he wasn't beat far in the Norfolk Stakes here as a juvenile.
