Kim Bailey charge can shrug off lengthy layoff

One of the knock-on effects of an unusually high quality Coral Welsh National on Tuesday is an unusually competitive renewal of the Last Fling Handicap Chase (2.40) at Haydock this afternoon.

The bottom weight in Tuesday's big race was 13lb higher than the previous year and many of those who missed out have been rerouted to this smaller prize, with 17 runners set to go to post, nine more than a year ago.

Those who missed out include last-time-out winner Viva Steve, who is likely to be popular, and Goodtoknow, who would have given Kerry Lee a third hand in a race she won last year.
