Kempton Placepot picks: Mark Brown has three bankers for the evening card

A wide-open nursery accounts for the opening leg (5.05) at Kempton and we'll take two handicap debutants against the field: Forest Demon, who has been contesting novice events at Group 1 tracks, and Unagi, upped in trip after being something of an eyecatcher last time.

We're going heavy on Ralph Beckett now, with his Quantum Light a banker in race two (5.40) after a promising debut at Ascot. In the third leg (6.15) the same trainer's Zoffany newcomer Creatively, who is bred for the all-weather, wouldn't need to be anything out of the ordinary to reach a place on debut in a race in which those with experience look underwhelming.

Leg four (6.50) sees us relying on Beckett again, with Fashion Love appearing to hold a strong chance in a weak novice.

The fifth leg (7.25) is a tricky one. We'll take the returning Huddleton Mac, who is of obvious interest on November's course-and-distance second, and the three-year-old Damaar, who appears likely to go well once more up just 1lb for winning at Chelmsford.

On to the final leg (8.00) and my bet of the day Tequilamockingbird is the first name on the team sheet but, as it's the last, we'll add handicap debutant and likely improver Royal Thunder for safety in numbers.
