Keith Melrose's must-have banker at Haydock on Saturday
Wissahickon
3.05 Haydock
Since I first looked at the Rose Of Lancaster betting on Monday, Raise You has halved in price while Wissahickon's odds have doubled. The latter is just a crazy price now.
Take out his last run, when beaten seven lengths on Good Friday, and he would probably be odds on for this race. That run cannot be completely disregarded, but it was at the end of an 11-month long stretch in which he hadn't had more than an 84-day break.
A runaway winner of the Cambridgeshire off 107 and all-conquering for most of the all-weather season, he is potentially a Group 1 horse against Group 2/3 rivals. There's a chance he won't be fully tuned-up after nearly four months off, but his price more than allows for that possibility.
