Justin O'Hanlon tackles six tricky races in competitive card at Downpatrick

No packed stands at Downpatrick today but some very competitive action nonetheless

It is wickedly competitive stuff at Downpatrick on Sunday afternoon, the sort of card where you could put in any number of units and still come up short.

The opening auction maiden hurdle (1.40) is not the easiest to sort out but the Colm Murphy-trained All About Joe has been getting closer to the winner's enclosure and should not be far away. Neither should the consistent Barnaviddaun, and they look the two safest plays.

The WKD Rated Hurdle (2.10) does not offer much respite and looks another race where you cannot be confident you are leaving out the winner. Recent Naas maiden hurdle winner The Very Man gets one of the nods, the other goes to easy Leopardstown handicap hurdle winner Wajaaha, who looked as though he would be capable of stepping up in grade last time.
