Jim McGrath with three strong selections for Wednesday's Happy Valley card

Be Ready
2.15 Happy Valley

Insayshable
3.50 Happy Valley
2pts win
Neil Callan has started picking up good rides again, marking a return to form that is tipped to continue when he partners Insayshable in the finale, the Class 2 handicap over 1m½f (3.50) on a nine-race card at Happy Valley.
With wins at the past two meetings, Callan is finding himself now regularly booked for useful spare mounts, which makes him popular with those dabbling in multiple bets. They leave him out of combinations at their peril.
Insayshable, once a capable type for Ger Lyons, finished in the frame in the Derrinstown Derby Trial at Leopardstown three years ago. The winner of two races and placed eight times since arriving in Hong Kong, he paid the price for this consistency, hitting a peak rating of 108.
But having now dropped to a more reasonable 95, trainer Me Tsui has him nicely poised in Class 2 company to win his first race for 17 months, which two of his three most recent runs, both at Happy Valley, have strongly indicated.
He ran a cracker three starts back when trapped wide down the back straight. He took off around the field, hitting the front before the turn and then fighting on to be beaten just under three lengths. The draw beat him, but this time from gate six Callan should have him nicely positioned, with cover, just behind the pace.
Happy Fun, the mount of in-form Antoine Hamelin, must be included, as too must Enrichment despite his wide draw. Dances With Dragon is significantly higher in the handicap, which makes it much harder for him this time.
Zac Purton, who boasts an impressively high strike-rate at Happy Valley, has the usual full book of rides, and while several will be at very short odds, the David Hall-trained Eptiwins, in the Class 4 handicap over 1m½f (1.15), could prove value.
Eptiwins caught the eye on his first outing for Hall two starts back but was then subsequently well held in a similar race at Sha Tin. Both times an awkward draw was a hindrance, but with Purton aboard from the inside stall it will be a different story this time.
Be Ready, in the Class 3 5f sprint handicap (2.15), is another Purton ride that should be followed. The Australian import is a seven-start maiden in Hong Kong, but that is not really a negative given the expected acclimatisation period. This is his opportunity to break through.
He ran on particularly well for Purton from a wide gate last time, finishing powerfully from well back.
