As any top trainer will be quick to tell you, having a good apprentice on your side is a huge advantage and the same can be true for punters.

Adam McNamara was the latest conditional to land a big handicap when steering Heartbreak City to success in the Ebor last month and he'll still be in demand when his 5lb claim is further reduced.

He's likely too far off the pace to challenge leader Tom Marquand and second-placed Josephine Gordon for this year's apprentice title, but that will be on his radar next year. As far as punters are concerned, though, he is no longer a well-kept secret.
