What a fantastic day it was at Ascot yesterday, and easily the star of the show was the unbelievable Minding, who showed just how good she was when coming back in trip to beat the best milers in Europe in comfortable style.

We didn't need reminding, but once again it proved what a truly wonderful trainer Aidan O'Brien is and just what a superstar sire Galileo continues to be. Dubawi is a great sire too but his stock are nothing like as tough and as resilient as those sired by Galileo, and the fact Minding could come back after her long season was a credit to the whole Coolmore operation.

There can be no doubting Minding is the best three-year-old filly of her generation and there can be little doubt that Almanzor is the best three-year-old colt now.
