It is hard not to get excited when a horse you have been waiting for finally appears among the entries and I do hope Mix And Mingle proves worth the wait when she runs in the Carraig Insurance EBF Stallions Breeding Winners Valiant Stakes (3.30) at Ascot this afternoon.

Chris Wall's filly has been on my radar since she bolted up in a Newmarket nursery last season and the trainer certainly had high hopes for her as he ran her in the Nell Gwyn and 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket.

She ran with credit both times, finishing fourth to Nathra on ground considered too soft and then seventh to Minding, when she would have been a bit closer but for some late interference.
