I'm a creature of habit - that's why I'm diving into the Derby ante-post market
Whether it is always ordering the same type of coffee from the same coffee shop, sitting in the same seat at the football or taking the dog for a walk on the same route every day, we are all creatures of habit.
One of my idiosyncrasies is that every year after the St Leger, I make it my business to have a look at next year's Classics with the hope of finding a horse to back in the Epsom Derby as there is nothing like a decent ante-post wager warming your pockets over the winter.
The problem with trying to find the winner of the Derby at this stage is that since Sea The Stars won at Epsom back in 2009 only five of the 13 subsequent Derby heroes had been seen on a racecourse at this stage of their juveniles season. As a result it hasn't proved to be the most profitable strategy ever devised.
