Promising claimer can prove valuable assistance for punters

Tom Humphries was not a name I had come across until Sandown on Saturday when he rode Arctic Gold to win the staying handicap hurdle and I was really impressed with how neat and tidy he looked. During the week he won another hurdle race for his guvnor Nigel Twiston-Davies and the 10lb he can claim again looks like a potential gold mine for punters.

On Friday afternoon Humphries teams up with Templeross in the Citipost Handicap Hurdle (2.40) and, even without the 10lb claim, I reckon Templeross would be of interest. With it, Templeross looks an extremely good bet.

Still unexposed having had only three runs over hurdles, Templeross jumped well and appreciated the step up to 3m when winning with seemingly plenty in hand at Ffos Las last time.
