Karis Teetan managed to wrest the spotlight from Hong Kong's big two by riding a four-timer last weekend and he looks set to carry on the good work when teaming up again with Furore in the G3 Premier Plate, over 1m1f (9.05), at Sha Tin.

This Sunday meeting features the final Group races of the season, and a win for last year's Derby winner would be well deserved. Furore has been in great form since joining Tony Cruz, his last two runs being among his best.

He was runner-up to stablemate Exultant in the G1 QEII Cup, over 1m2f, before finishing a gallant third to the same horse in the G1 Champions and Chater Cup over a mile and a half.

Both performances were commendable, and the only possible negative this time is that he is asked to drop back three furlongs in distance in the space of four weeks. Cruz has done it before with other stable stars and he is poised for a repeat.

Vincent Ho landed the first Group 1 of his career aboard Southern Legend when taking the Champions Mile two months ago, and as his mount is so versatile at the top level, he must always be respected. He is the danger to Furore.

Normally maidens on the slide through the ranks are to be avoided, but not so in Hong Kong, where it is often just a matter of them finding the right level before striking gold. One suspects that is the case with Regency Master in the Class 4 mile handicap (8.35).

The three-year-old is 0-5 and has dropped 6lb in the handicap since his racecourse debut in February but the son of staying influence Savabeel was only starting to find his feet at the end of a mile last time, and with that experience he can break through over course and distance.

He is among a good book of 11 rides for champion Zac Purton, who leads arch rival Joao Moreira 130-127 in the title battle with eight meetings remaining.

Purton tries for a similar achievement withBiz Power, who is 0-13 in Hong Kong as he lines up for the finale, the Class 3 6f handicap (10.45). Paul O'Sullivan is the six-year-old's third local trainer and can be the first to lead him into the winner's enclosure at Sha Tin.

Biz Power, who won twice in Italy prior to export, has clearly had issues but his two runs for O'Sullivan have been eyecatching.
