I read the meeting completely wrong and went for the sloggers when you needed horses with a bit of pace. To that end it was a real shock to see A Plus Tard run as he did because we all know what a quick horse he is and he should have been suited by conditions.

The time of the Betfair Chase was only six seconds slower than it was when he won last year and half a minute quicker then when the ground was really soft in 2020 when Bristol De Mai won.
