Things didn't work out for him in the 2,000 Guineas. We'll step up in trip with the Derby in mind. He's in the Dante but I don't think he'll go there, I think he'll go straight to the Derby.

It is a bit up in the air as the unraced ones and the once-raced ones have got a bit to find to be Derby horses. Rivet goes for the French 2,000 Guineas next weekend and we will make a plan after that.

Winning the Derby is still the reason I get up every morning but the picture will become clearer in the next four weeks. Manchego doesn't want rattling quick ground and he will go for whichever trial gets some rain. Best Of Days has taken longer to get fit than I imagined; the Derby is on his radar but he will go for the last trial at Goodwood. Escobar could still be a horse for the French Guineas or the French Derby or he could be a very good horse who is not quite ready to step up to Group 1 level.
