'He should be very hard to beat' - David Jennings has a strong fancy at Cork

Tai Sing Yeh
4.00 Cork
2pts win

There are plenty of sprinters with poor strike-rates in the 6f handicap at Cork, but Tai Sing Yeh has won three times and crept down to a mark 1lb below his last winning one so looks worth backing.

That success, in a 6f handicap at Ayr in July last year, was achieved off a mark of 61 and the 17-runner heat was stronger than the one he runs in here.

There have been signs he is about to hit form, most notably last time at Leopardstown over 7f where he flew home from an unpromising position to finish fourth.

The 68-day layoff is a worry, but he has won after 75 days off and one of the best efforts of his career came over this course and distance.

Could Be King
4.35 Cork
2pts win
Some of the most competitive handicaps of the season take place on Irish Champions Weekend, so for Could Be King to carry top weight to victory in the Sovereign Path Handicap was quite an achievement.

Not only that, but he did so from stall 16 and had to circle the entire field.

Ken Condon has done a fine job with the four-year-old since he arrived at the start of the campaign and his close-up third in a Listed race in June suggests he will have no problem staying a mile if he settles.

Flight Risk is rated 3lb better than him in the Listed Navigation Stakes, but Could Be King arrives in better form and has the perfect draw in stall one for Billy Lee to get some cover. He should be very hard to beat.

Switch Around
5.05 Cork
1pt win
We have not seen Switch Around since she folded very tamely when well fancied for a 1m5f handicap at Navan in June, but she is down to a mark of 65 and could be a class above her rivals in the first division of the mile handicap.

She caught the eye against some quality opponents last year, running against Leo De Fury and Camphor, and she shaped with promise on her return at Gowran Park.

This is the weakest race she has contested and Dermot Weld has shrewdly snapped up top-notch 7lb claimer Luke McAteer.
