It is a different code, on a different surface and over a different trip, but it is hard to envisage Futurum Regem not winning the 2m handicap at Dundalk given how easily he landed what looked a reasonably competitive 2m6f handicap hurdle at Navan on Sunday.

He won by nine lengths, but it could have been 19 had Dillon Maxwell wished. That win was achieved off a mark of 102 and the handicapper reacted by giving him a 14lb rise for the romp. He deserved every pound of it.
