Haydock Placepot perm: Graeme Rodway's picks for a £100,000 guaranteed pool

The Tote are putting up their £100,000 guarantee for the Placepot at Haydock.

The opening 3m½f conditional jockeys’ handicap hurdle (12.30) looks tricky, but Harjo should go well for Charlie Longsdon. Lily Glitters should be the best alternative.

The winner will be needed in the 3m1½f novice handicap chase (1.00) and it’s a tight little race. Put all three runners, Gold Cup Bailly, Crystal Glory and Iron Bridge into the perm.

Another tough race comes up next in the shape of the 1m7½f novice hurdle (1.30). Matata sets the standard on Racing Post Ratings and must be included alongside War Soldier.

Clan Legend is one of my best bets of the day and rates a banker in the 2m5½f handicap chase (2.00) and I fancy Stainsby Girl will be placed in the 2m3f handicap hurdle (2.30).

The 3m4½f handicap chase (3.00) requires more coverage. Good Boy Bobby looks sure to run well and is included, but he’s no certainty to place so put All About Joe in the perm.
