Hamilton Placepot picks: Richard Birch with a perm for the Flat card

The 6f amateur jockeys' handicap (1.05), opening leg of the Hamilton Placepot, looks wide open. Kraken Power, who has dropped 18lb since April, boasts winning course form on good to soft ground and could run well, while Slainte Mhath, another course-and-distance scorer on easy terrain, should also give a bold account.

Proverb, George Boughey's sole runner at the meeting, sets a decent standard in the 5f maiden (1.38) and ought to prove hard to beat.

In the 5f handicap (2.13), Burtonlodge Beauty, best with plenty of give in the ground, receives stacks of weight from the majority of her rivals and makes considerable punting appeal.

Saeed bin Suroor invariably enjoys a rewarding autumn, and the in-form trainer holds a decent chance of landing the fillies' handicap (2.48) with Beautiful Secret. Fellow Newmarket raider Spanish, who represents William Haggas, also merits inclusion.

Stunning Beauty looks another Bin Suroor runner with claims in the 1m1f handicap (3.23), with Innse Gall also capable of being involved in the finish.

Antagonize, who has been knocking on the door all summer, and Can't Stop Now look the pair to concentrate on in division one of the mile handicap (3.58).
