Graeme Rodway with a perm for the Placepot on the all-weather at Chelmsford

Credit: Alan Crowhurst

The opening 7f maiden (1.55) looks between Miss Finland and Water Iris. John Gosden has run some useful types on the all-weather at this time of year, so Miss Finland is preferred.

Elusif has some solid course-and-distance form and should run well in the 7f handicap (2.25). He has a tricky draw in 15, though, so it’s worth including likely favourite Kylla Looks too.

Tamborrada is likely to be a warm order to make a successful debut in the 1m2f novice (2.55) and it doesn’t look the strongest race in which to start. He should be placed at worst.

The 1m2f nursery (3.25) is a bit of a guessing game with so many unexposed runners lining up. Durabella is bred to excel at this sort of trip and similar comments apply to Real Dude.

The in-form Mini Milk must be included in the mile handicap (3.55). It might also be worth putting World Title into the perm. He has been running well recently and should place.

The 6f handicap (4.25) is another wide-open race. Spreadsheet caught the eye when fourth at Lingfield last time and makes plenty of appeal. Aguerooo looks the best alternative.
