Newmarket: David Milnes

Cracksman (3.50 Ascot, nap)

Fancied to bring the curtain down on his career in style after some smart work with Stradivarius on the Limekilns of late. John Gosden's colt is expected to be suited by the fitting of blinkers.

Others to follow
Ascot: 1.25 Stradivarius, 2.00 The Tin Man, 2.40 Lah Ti Dar, 3.15 Roaring Lion, 4.30 Via Via.

North: Richard Young

Kynren (4.30 Ascot, nap)

Has been a bit unlucky not to win a race this year and far from disgraced when sixth in the Cambridgeshire on latest start. These much softer conditions will be ideal and fancied to return to winning ways.

Lambourn: James Burn

Papagana (1.40 Market Rasen, nap)

Oliver Sherwood thinks quite a bit of this mare, who was bred by her owner and Newbury chairman Dominic Burke. She is of interest given the form of Sherwood's yard, which has enjoyed its best ever summer campaign.

Others to follow
Ascot: 2.00 Harry Angel, 3.15 Stormy Antarctic, 4.30 Raising Sand.
Catterick: 1.50 Sylvia's Mother.
Ffos Las: 5.30 Encore Champs.

Racing Post Ratings: Simon Turner

Mitchum Swagger (4.30 Ascot)

Lightly raced these days but his third in this year's Lincoln is an excellent line of form. Career best came over course and distance and is a big player.

Topspeed: Dave Edwards

Crystal Ocean (3.50 Ascot)

Just denied over course and distance in the King George and a creditable second behind Enable last time. Richly deserved compensation awaits.

Longshot: Ben Harris

Zwayyan (4.30 Ascot)

Ran a disappointing race in the Cambridgeshire, but didn't look to get home that day. Has no concerns with the ground and his best form has come over a mile. Should post a better effort here under more favourable conditions.

Ireland: Tony O'Hehir

Acclamatio (5.25 Leopardstown)

With Ben Coen claiming a valuable 7lb, the Tony Martin-trained four-year-old can prove the value in the 1m4f handicap having shown encouraging signs when fourth over the same trip on his most recent start at Cork earlier this month.

Jamie Spencer is 3-6 when riding in Ascot handicaps for trainer Jamie Osborne over the last three seasons (+£12.50 to £1 stakes). He's an eyecatching booking on Hathal in the Balmoral Handicap at 4.30.
