Give chaser another chance to prove how well treated he is

No. 6

3.20 Aintree
2pts win at 4-1 generally

Tommy Silver was a disappointment at Cheltenham last month, but he ran very much like a horse who needed his first run since May – travelled and jumped well, got tired after the third-last – and I can't let him go unbacked as he is fantastically well handicapped on last season's early novice chase form.

He ran to a Racing Post Rating of 150 when second at Bangor in December and then 147 when third to stablemate Cyrname at Kempton over Christmas, but he lost his form a bit after that and is now down to a mark of 135. He is much better than today's rivals if returning to that sort of form.
