Friday's free racing tips: expert selections from the Racing Post team

Handicappers' nap

Fred (1.30 Ascot)

Showed promise in France and shaped like the step up to today's trip would suit when placed at Cheltenham on last month's British debut.
Steve Mason

Newmarket nap

King Ragnar (4.00 Newcastle)

Unlucky to run into the useful Ottoman Court at Chelmsford last time but still ran well to be clear of the third. Roger Varian's youngster is fancied to make it third time lucky.
David Milnes

Eyecatcher

Queen Mia (6.00 Newcastle)

Laid down a fine marker on her British debut with the newly fitted tongue-tie appearing to succeed. There's surely a low-grade handicap in her this winter.
Raceform

Our analysts from Raceform find eyecatchers at all meetings in the UK and Ireland, every day. Essential subscribers can read their expert view on every race

Irish Angle

Psyche (7.15 Dundalk)

Showed improvement when second over 7f here last month and can take another step forward here under Shane Foley.
Tony O'Hehir

Ace Tipster

Didero Vallis (2.40 Ascot)

Improved last season, rounding off with a fifth at the Cheltenham Festival. Returns for a yard in fine form.
Keith Melrose

Speed Figures

Be Proud (4.30 Newcastle)

Course-and-distance scorer in September but has found one just too good on two starts since. Deserves to get back to winning ways.
Dave Edwards

Spotlight nap

Red Force One (3.45 Ascot)

Almost collared Gumball in Listed handicap here 20 days ago and that form was boosted when the winner went close in the Greatwood at Cheltenham. Still unexposed over hurdles and commands respect up 4lb.
Steve Boow

Dark horse

Reikers Island (3.15 Ascot)

Largely progressive sort who made a promising seasonal debut at Exeter. Has a decent each-way chance if building on that effort.
Neil McCabe

Must-have stat of the day

Mr Medic is two from four at Ascot and unbeaten from two starts when returning from a break of over 200 days. The eight-year-old runs for the first time in 252 days looking for a repeat win in the 2m5f handicap chase at 2.40.
