Handicappers' nap

Passion And Glory (7.40 Newmarket)

Posted an RPR of 90 when beaten by Away He Goes on debut at Newbury recently. Gets a 6lb pull with that rival for a half-length defeat and can make amends.

Newmarket nap

Away He Goes (7.40 Newmarket)

The son of Farhh has always been held in some regard by Ismail Mohammed and is fancied to defy a penalty for his game win at Newbury last time.
David Milnes

Eyecatcher

Encapsulation (7.30 York)

Encapsulation made her debut for connections last time after leaving Noel Meade. She coped well with the quickest ground she has encountered so far, but was unsuited by the drop in trip, staying on well after getting outpaced. She has the potential to land a nice prize back over a stiffer test.

Irish Angle

Downdraft (7.35 Down Royal)

A second Listed race beckons for the Joseph O’Brien trained four-year-old, who won over 1m4f at Roscommon last time. The two-furlong longer trip should suit.
Tony O'Hehir

Speed figures

Making History (6.40 Newmarket)

Never headed to score convincingly at Leicester eight days ago and Saeed bin Suroor's rapidly improving youngster can shrug of his penalty.
Dave Edwards

Spotlight nap

Magnetic Charm (3.35 Ascot)

Ended last year with two creditable runs in Group races before improved win in Listed race at York (1m; good to firm) on May's seasonal return. This half-sister to high-class Usherette (RPR 119) came on again when fine second under top-weight over straight mile in Sandringham handicap here (good) last time and is the one to beat on that form.

Dark horse

Mountain Peak (4.45 Ascot)

Back to winning ways at the Newmarket July festival last time out. The four-year-old was a winner here last season and should go well in a competitive sprint.
Rob Sutton

Must-have stat of the day

David O'Meara has had four winners and three places in the 8.00 at York. He relies on Baltic Baron to improve his already good record in the race.
