French Guineas sixth may not appreciate ground or drop in trip
Last year’s Derby third and Irish Derby runner-up took his form to a new level in the autumn when winning the Champion Stakes by seven lengths. He confirmed he’s going to be very hard to beat this season with an easy win in the Prix Ganay at Longchamp in April, a race in which subsequent Lockinge winner Rhododendron was more than five lengths away in fourth. Becomes only the ninth horse since 2006 to carry a BHA rating of 130 or more in Britain or Ireland – making him better than ten of the last 12 Derby winners – and has no problems with soft ground.
Conclusion Officially better than rivals by upwards of 8lb and impossible to oppose.
