The Punt Acca: Matt Rennie's three racing tips on 2,000 Guineas day at Newmarket and Punchestown on Saturday
Three horses to include in a multiple

No Half Measures (2.55 Newmarket)
This Richard Hughes-trained filly remarkably improved last year and can continue her rapid progression with Group 3 success in the Palace House. The daughter of Cable Bay won six of her 11 starts last year, including winning at this level at Newbury in September before finishing fifth in the Prix de L'Abbaye at Longchamp. She drops in class for her comeback and the drying ground shouldn't be an issue, given she's won on good at the July course before.
Scorthy Champ (3.35 Newmarket)
Field Of Gold is all the rage in the 2,000 Guineas market, but this top-level winner can give Joseph O'Brien more Classic glory. He improved markedly in three starts last year and notably on the last of those, when an impressive winner of the National Stakes at the Curragh. He beat Henri Matisse that day, who went on to win the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf and won a Guineas trial at Leopardstown this year. The step up to a mile should bring out more improvement too.
Lulamba (4.50 Punchestown)
This Nicky Henderson-trained star has a prime chance for redemption following his Cheltenham Festival defeat in this Grade 1 contest. The four-year-old ran a huge race in the Triumph Hurdle and looked set for victory before rank outsider Poniros nabbed him on the line. Dropping back in trip by a furlong on a sharper track should play to his strengths.
