The Punt Acca: Matt Rennie's three horse racing tips at Pontefract on Sunday

Santorini Star (3.40 Pontefract)

This is a trappy Listed affair but this four-year-old can take the step up in class in her stride in the Pontefract Castle Fillies' Stakes. Trained by William Haggas, she has won four of her last five starts, including when disposing of some reopposing rivals in a Goodwood handicap last time. She's only 2lb off the top-rated Karmology, while Haggas has a 38 per cent track strike-rate in the last five years.

Captain Potter (4.15 Pontefract)

This five-year-old needs to find a bit on the ratings but he can do just that in the 2m2f handicap. Trained by Brian Ellison, he has ran some creditable races in defeat this season, including when beaten just three-quarters of a length over 2m1f here last time. He's up 2lb for this, but that is negated by the very useful Shay Farmer's 7lb claim.

Partisan Hero (4.50 Pontefract)

Dave Loughnane's five-year-old has been in terrific form recently and there's no reason why that cannot continue in the 6f handicap. He's yet to finish out of the first three since switching to Loughnane's care and not out of the first two in his last five starts. He got his head in front in a far deeper contest at Epsom this month, in which he had Kensington Palace Stakes winner Miss Information behind him. A 3lb rise for that doesn't look harsh.
