Paul Kealy's play of the day at Newmarket

The aptly named Fifty Nifty is a warm favourite for the Betfred "Nifty 50" Handicap following his excellent second to Ten Pounds at the Craven meeting, but I wouldn't want to be too dogmatic about form on that particular day at Newmarket as, aside from the potentially brilliant Field Of Gold in the Craven, everything that raced on the stands' rail seemed to have a big advantage, while those further off it appeared to finish weakly.

The first three home in that 7f contest ran against the near rail, and Miss Information, drawn on the outside in stall one, ran a perfectly creditable race to finish a three-length fifth.

With the wider stands' side course in use and the stalls in the centre, there's a much greater likelihood of them all coming down the middle, with no great advantage in the draw, so I can see her getting a lot closer.

She has a 4lb pull, which is theoretically not enough, but Oisin Murphy, who rode Fifty Nifty then, is back on Miss Information, on whom he nearly won a red-hot big-field handicap at York's Ebor meeting last season from just a 1lb lower mark.
