The Nicky Richards-trained Hard Iron won over 2m3f at Ayr in the autumn on his first two handicaps starts and promises to be even better now upped to a staying trip. Last month's C&D winner Bollin Neil is second choice, ahead of Flexi Furlough who returns from some time off with her trainer's horses running well.

3.00: Monbeg Genius 

This is a small field but four of them at the least are of major interest. Monbeg Genius has made a big impression with his two wins, the second of which was over C&D, and it's probably worth sticking with him despite the presence of another striking sort in Super Survivor. Ex-pointer Raddon Top won so well last time (on heavy going) that he too has to be highly respected, while it's possible that the cheekpieces will help Ree Okka.

Fly The Nest nearly nicked a Wolverhampton event last week only to find Miss Calculation bearing down on him late. He has less to prove on this surface than that winner, who has never run on Polytrack, but Luxy Lou may well have the wind in her sails after breaking her longstanding duck on a rare run over 7f here last time. The rest have something to prove but Delagate The Lady is worth another go at 7f.

Top of the list is Mint Edition, who returned from a break with an emphatic win on his step up to 1m here last month and is open to more improvement. Cariad had form figures of 121 when switched to handicapping on Tapeta in the autumn and she's feared most on her reappearance.
