Top selections across the cards in Britain and Ireland

Ascot

2.40: Gleneagle Bay

Irish challenger GLENEAGLE BAY ran out of steam in the latter stages when favourite for a major 1m handicap in his sole start this term. He has very few miles on the clock and looks a particularly interesting contender back down in distance, with further progress still likely. Qirat, who has a very strong record over 7f and may well have even more to offer this year, is second choice ahead of Myal, English Oak, No Retreat and Ten Pounds in that order of preference.

Cork

5.10: Leading Endeavour

Following an encouraging handicap debut at Ballinrobe last month, LEADING ENDEAVOUR may be the one to side with here on similar ground. Driveonwill and recent winner Kiln Time look likely dangers, while Wyoming Baby could go well on return to hurdles, and Heidi's Frontiere could prove a bit of each-way value.

Haydock

1.35: Anyharminasking

All things considered, it was a terrific run by Our Champ (second choice) at Plumpton three weeks ago but he does like to get on with things and he's not the only one in this field. It might just set up for one ridden colder and ANYHARMINASKING looked back to his old self (he once had a 9lb higher mark than this) when breezing home on good ground at Newcastle five weeks ago. Like the selection, Bareback Jack is back in the good books after impressing last time, while Dance And Glance and She's A Saint can also run well.

Hexham

4.40: Not Sure

The well-handicapped NOT SURE made a welcome return to form last time and he is Kerry Lee's only runner on the card. Hostile Hotelier (second choice) is on the same mark as when second at Sedgefield and Torosay has to be respected, as there were excuses last time and she goes well here.

Leicester

6.30: Guendolen

With further improvement on the cards, GUENDOLEN is taken to complete a Leicester double. Beauld As Brass, who bids for a four-timer, is feared most assuming he stays the new trip. Glimmer Of Light has 1m4f form and may do better still.

Lingfield

2.25: Candyman Stan

The lightly raced 4yo CANDYMAN STAN won in fine style at Brighton on his reappearance and a 7lb rise could prove lenient. Power Of Destiny is inconsistent and didn't shine last time but can pose a threat if leaving that run behind.

Naas

4.55: Heather

Though yet to race on turf, Dundalk maiden winner HEATHER is a sister to an Irish Derby winner and Oaks runner-up so should have no issue with the surface. She can score on handicap debut. With blinkers added, Galveston can do better than on seasonal debut.

Nottingham

4.15: Nazron

Last year's winner Haymaker will be a danger to all if breaking on terms, while Rocking Ends, Burning Cash and the progressive South Parade (second choice) all have something to recommend them. NAZRON shaped with a good deal of promise when third at Wolverhampton 12 days ago, tiring late on over 6f having tanked through a well-run event, and the drop back to 5f, allied to a generous 2lb drop in the weights, can see him record his first win since joining Ivan Furtado.

Warwick

6.40: Anytrixilldo

Cave Article was nicely in command in the closing stages at Hereford last month and might still be on the upgrade, but ANYTRIXWILLDO returned to form with a Taunton win when back on decent ground last month and Benjamin Macey's hefty 8lb claim is a big selling point in this conditional jockeys' race.
