Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's three meetings

Tuesday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Exeter

4.30: Petticoat Lucy

All six runners have something going for them but top of the list is Petticoat Lucy, who created a pretty good impression when surging clear to make a winning chase debut at Newton Abbot in May and is still quite well handicapped on some of her hurdling form. Maninsane is second choice, ahead of stablemates Midnight Midge and Gingerbred.

Hereford

3.40: Montregard

This most interesting runner is Montregard, who is very unexposed after only two career starts and displayed a pretty good turn of foot to collect a Warwick maiden in the spring. My Gift To You has done very well for his new stable since the summer and might still be on the upgrade. State Of Honor was unlucky not to make a winning handicap debut over course and distance in February and will be dangerous if returning from his layoff in similar form.

Wolverhampton

5.30: Lynwood Lad

This won't take much winning and three-year-old Lynwood Lad could well open his account. He looks better judged on his third to a couple of decent types for the grade over course-and-distance two runs ago, rather than when doing a bit too much too soon out wide at Chelmsford last time. Support for Hannah's Return back from a break would increase her threat level.
