Ffos Las Placepot picks: Tom Segal with three bankers on the jumps card
Harry Fry has started the jumps season in good form and he could be the man to follow at Ffos Las.
Fairy Gem showed plenty in bumpers and is a sister to some good hurdlers, so she should go well in the opening mares' novice hurdle (1.45), while How's The Cricket is bred to be a chaser, goes well fresh and looks thrown in on the pick of his hurdles form in the Four Roads Handicap Chase (2.18).
It's a toss up between Spring Meadow and New Found Fame in the New Novices' Hurdle (2.55). The latter has a penalty, though, so Spring Meadow might be safer for Placepot purposes, although both should really hit the frame.
Things get much tougher after that with three competitive handicaps and a couple will be required in each leg.
Current Moodgoes well fresh and and had some classy form last season, so she should go close in the feature handicap hurdle (3.30). Saint Segal is still relatively unexposed, has had a run and is included.
The staying handicap chase (4.03) is not a great race and several could win. Jean Genie is a maiden after 22 starts but he finishes in the frame a lot. He goes in the perm with Faitque De L'Isle, who comes from a stable that has started the season strongly.
The final Placepot race (4.40) takes some deciphering but Gingembre Menth could improve for the application of cheekpieces. Good Impression ran well enough on the Flat recently and is consistent, so he is worth sticking in too.
