Starting in 1975 with Rubstic, some famous names such as Diamond Edge, Brown Chamberlin, Run And Skip, Flashing Steel and Yorkshire Gale (three times) have won this handicap. In the past 29 years the two highest-rated winners, off 155, were Royal Auclair and Midnight Chase, while 2008 winner Mon Mome won the Grand National the following spring.
