Farcical finish at Haydock as even racegoers can't see winner

There was a farcical end to proceedings at Haydock, when not even commentator Stewart Machin nor on-course in-running punters had any idea what was going on in the ever thickening fog.

Eventual winner Clyne never traded much shorter than 4-1 in running even passing the post, which is not that surprising given TV viewers on RUK or Channel 4 could not see a thing.

Runner-up Le Rocher did trade at odds-on (1.67) as did third-placed El Terremoto (1.36), but anyone taking those prices was simply guessing.
