Poet's Prince (4.00 Ripon, nap)

Won three races early last year and turned in a couple of creditable efforts afterwards. He's on a fair mark and, with conditions to suit and his stable in fine form, he can make a winning start to 2019.

Sunshade (3.15 Cheltenham, nap)

The Queen's useful mare ran with credit after a year off at Newbury last month and should be in the mix if improving from that. She will adore the sound surface.

Her jumping frailties have let her down in the past but she has thrived in recent weeks and can add to her Kelso success.

Cheltenham 2.05 Posh Trish 3.15 Timeforben 3.50 The Wicket Chicken 4.25 Miranda 5.30 Ellarna.

Racing Post Ratings: Steve Mason

Oscar Rose (3.15 Cheltenham, nap)

Performed a bit below par at Newbury last time, but plenty of form to suggest she could be a big player here, including a good third off a higher mark in this race last year.

Topspeed: Dave Edwards

Beringer (3.35 Newmarket)

Had to settle for minor honours on his reappearance in the Lincoln at Doncaster last month but may take centre stage on the Rowley Mile.

Longshot: Neil McCabe

Poet's Prince (4.00 Ripon)

Has gone well fresh in the past and returns on a competitive mark, prominent racing style should be suited to this track and will love the ground too.

Ireland: Tony O'Hehir

Elite Trooper Grey (5.40 Clonmel)

Twice placed in maidens last season, this Willie McCreery-trained son of Fast Company made an encouraging return at Leopardstown 12 days ago when second to Eminence in a 1m2f handicap. Back in maiden company here, he gets the vote to score under Shane Foley.
