Fairyhouse Placepot picks: Paul Kealy tackles the Irish Grand National card

Kempton makes no appeal for a Placepot with two four-runner races, so it's off to Fairyhouse's ultra-competitive Irish Grand National meeting instead.

In the opener (2.05) Celestial Horizon, who got his act together in commanding fashion at Navan last time, ought to be competitive on his jump handicap debut, as should Only Sky, especially if she brushes up her jumping.

Triumph fourth Icare Allen ought to have enough of a class edge to make the first two in the next (2.40), while in leg three (3.15), both Festival D'Ex and Homme D'Un Soir have reasonable claims of reversing February form here with Carrig Sam at the revised weights.

Thedevilscoachman is a short enough price in the next (3.50) and his claims are obvious, but it's arguably a bit more competitive than the odds suggest.

I shall try to get him out of the frame and go with the consistent Darasso and Whiskey Sour, who ran as well as ever over hurdles last time.

At the weights, the fifth (4.20) isn't quite the free ticket for Janidi that the odds suggests, but the Ryanair runner-up is unbeaten at the track and ought to make the first two.

That just leaves the Irish National (5.00), and I can go four-handed here and still keep the perm manageable.

I'll be with horses carrying under 11st here, and go with Max Flamingo, Frontal Assault, Time To Get Up and Full Time Score.
