Exeter Placepot: Richard Birch provides his perm for interesting jumps card

Kick off the Exeter Placepot by including one horse from both ends of the weights in leg one (1.45).

Topweight Storm Home, placed in four of his last six starts, and Theatre Mix, who carries just 10st, both look likely to play a major part in the finish.

Voodoo Doll ran a blinder when just touched off by Mr Jack at Fakenham last Tuesday. The pair pulled 20 lengths clear of the rest, and Evan Williams’ runner is able to compete off the same mark in leg two (2.20).

Lightonthewing isn’t entirely certain to be suited by the drying ground, but he’s a likeable, progressive sort and merits inclusion too.

Art Approval, seventh of 17 in a stronger handicap at Cheltenham in November, rates banker material in leg three (2.50), while I’ll be surprised if Finalshot doesn’t produce a big performance off his much reduced mark in leg four (3.20). Costly purchase Frisson Collonges provides back-up.

Midnight Aurora, far better than her last effort at Huntingdon suggests – the race may have come too soon after her impressive Plumpton win – is the main fancy in leg five (3.50), with Frankincense providing support.

Falberto is mighty hard to oppose in the concluding leg (4.20).
