Evening Angles: trainer stats, RPRs and jockey bookings for this evening

Wolverhampton: racing after dark today

Using the Racing Post's unrivalled bank of stats, we pick out three horses to back tonight based on trainer form, RPRs and, tonight's wild card, trainer-jockey combinations . . .

Trainer form

Elysees Palace
6.10 Dundalk
Angle: Sir Mark Prescott has won with five of his last nine runners at Dundalk.

When Sir Mark Prescott sends a runner to Dundalk it tends to be a worthwhile journey, with five of the last visiting nine runners winning.

The experienced trainer sends Elysees Palace, who holds a Queen's Cup entry at Musselburgh, on his latest mission. The five-year-old epitomises consistency and has a clear chance on his best form, although it is a slight concern he has been beaten as favourite on each of his last four runs.

Ratings

Rhossili Down
8.00 Wolverhampton
Angle: Well clear on ratings

Rhossili Down has plenty going for her as she attempts to win for the first time in the concluding 7f novice, in which she's 17lb clear of her nearest rival on RPRs.

The daughter of Kingman showed plenty to finish third on her debut at Newbury. She did not run quite as well at Newmarket but is held in high enough regard by her connections to hold an Irish 1,000 Guineas entry.

Trainer Charlie Hills is also in fine form, with four of his last 11 runners winning, and he'll hope his well-bred filly can continue the winning run before moving on to bigger things.

Wild card

Fares Alpha
7.00 Wolverhampton
Angle: Marco Botti and Andrea Atzeni have a 36 per cent strike-rate when teaming up at Wolverhampton.

Fares Alpha has something to find on all known form, but with the Botti-Atzeni combination in his corner there is every chance of his doing so.

When the pair team up, they have a 36 per cent strike-rate at Wolverhampton, which is far superior to either of their individual strike-rates at the Midlands all-weather course.

The three-year-old has been gelded since he finished fourth here in November.
