Beverley racecourse: Brian Ellison had a frustrating day at the East Yorkshire track

>>Eternal held on in a driving finish to the 1m½f handicap at Beverley, but in-running punters were sure he would be collared and he touched a high of 250 on Betfair on his way to a 5-1 win. Gerry The Glover proved the most popular of his rivals, but Brian Ellison's runner weakened into third after trading at 1.22.

>>There was further frustration for Ellison in division two of the 1m2f handicap when Jamacho was outbattled by Reinstorm having hit 1.33. The 8-1 winner touched no bigger than 9.4 on his way to a half-length success.

>>Andrea Atzeni's trip to East Yorkshire for one ride paid off when Mountain Angel landed the 7½f maiden at 8-11 and that took trainer Roger Varian's strike-rate at the track in the last five years to 33 per cent (8-24).
