Shackleton

3.05: Queen's Vase

Sent off favourite on his last four starts, Shackleton is clearly well regarded and while he has only won once in his career (2-5 maiden win at the Curragh), this step up in trip should really bring out the best of this son of Camelot. Aidan O'Brien has won five of the past ten runnings of the race and was successful last season with Gold Cup favourite Illinois.

4.20: Prince of Wales's Stakes

Los Angeles is not your typical mile and a quarter type. He's gritty and tough, but he perhaps doesn't get enough credit. He reminds me a lot of Aidan O'Brien's 2017 winner Highland Reel. Los Angeles ran a stormer to be third in the Arc last season before feeling the after effects of that when running his worst race of his career in the Champion Stakes. He'll take plenty of catching here and Ryan Moore is a magician around this round course.
