Dominada looks potentially thrown in for Ellison at Carlisle

Dominada recorded his only win this season in a 1m6f handicap at Musselburgh in May, but he has been running well in defeat on the Flat recently and is potentially thrown in now returned to hurdles.

Brian Ellison's gelding is rated 79 on the level, yet is only 26lb higher over hurdles off a mark of 105 and went off 13-8 favourite to cash in when last seen in this sphere at Musselburgh 11 months ago. He finished only fourth, but stayed on strongly to lose out by only two and a half lengths. He appeared unsuited by that sharp 1m71/2f and today's stiff track and extra furlong and a half is in his favour.

There is certainly room for improvement in the jumping department and, if he can put in a more fluent round, he should have far too much class for this field off his current rating. Megan Carberry claims a handy 3lb and Ellison's string are in decent form.
