Dirt duo can capitalise if Pick Number One fails to shine

You have to wonder how British racing is to prosper in a wildly competitive betting landscape when a flagship Cheltenham Saturday card struggles to average seven runners a race.
The opposite is true in Hong Kong, where full fields of closely matched handicappers dominate, but at least British punters can lock in a price if they find an opposable favourite.
The concept of value seldom dominates debate in these parts, largely because the market only truly takes shape very late, but there could be two overpriced horses in the Lukfook Jewellery Convergence Of Love Collection H'cap (9.15) at Sha Tin.
Pick Number One will be pick number one for thousands of Joao Moreira fans – and his chance is obvious – but Strathclyde and Joyful Moments can provide stern resistance.
Strathclyde is one of the most progressive all-weather sprinters around and is worth backing at 5-1 or better, while Joyful Moments is finding his form and looks worth a saver at double figure odds.
Aashiqui's impressive success in an all-weather barrier trial hints that he could give favourite Ugly Warrior plenty to think about in the Lukfook Jewellery Pt Graceful Collection Handicap (6.35).
The finale at 9.50 features a clash of bruisers as Hong Kong's heaviest horse Pingwu Spark – a 1336lb slab of Mastercraftsman gelding – squares off against the equally muscular Aussie import Good Standing.
Both have plenty to recommend them, but this is much more than just a match and the mercurial Limitless might be worth one final chance if new rider Nash Rawiller can bury him on the inside with the aim of swooping late.
Last but not least, good luck to Young Legend (formerly Low Latency for Irish handler Darren Bunyan) who lines up for the 7.05 in the colours of my employers The Racing Club.
He does so after a very promising Hong Kong debut but he faces a very dangerous rival in Amazing Star, who impressed on the clock here last month and could still be much better than a mark of 61 suggests.
