Richard Hannon’s entire has been below par on his last three starts, including when beating only one home in the Celebration Mile at Goodwood two weeks ago. However, all three of those outings were on fast ground – a surface he has yet to win on – and he is likely to leave them behind on ground that could have plenty of cut.

The son of Arakan is a solid performer at this level on good or softer (form figures 13111). Two of his last three wins have come on easy ground in Group 2 company, and he wasn’t far off his best when a solid fourth on soft ground in the Queen Anne at Royal Ascot in June.
