Gigginstown well placed to make amends in Ryanair

Despite throwing Don Cossack, Valseur Lido and Road To Riches at the Ryanair Chase in the past two seasons, Michael O'Leary's Gigginstown operation has yet to win the race sponsored by his company.

They may have been unfortunate last season. Valseur Lido and Road To Riches did their utmost but ran into a peak-form Vautour who was only rerouted to the Ryanair from the Gold Cup in the days leading up to the race. Without his presence, the 2016 renewal would have been a roaring success for Gigginstown.

This season, Valseur Lido is the shortest price of their horses, but he seems likely to be running over longer trips for the remainder of the season, leaving Henry de Bromhead's Sub Lieutenant as their main hope.
