>>Dartmouth defied a high of 23 in running on Betfair on his way to justifying 11-4 favouritism in the Betway Yorkshire Cup.

It was hard to judge who was in front as Dartmouth came alone on the stands' side, and Simple Verse touched 1.33 when she hit the front in the group on the far side of the course, but finished only second overall.

Strong-travelling Endless Time was another to disappoint short-priced backers, fading to fourth after touching a low of 1.4.
